Spartans Tennis Camp

We hope you'll join us for five 75-minute camp sessions during June 2026. The Spartans Tennis Camp began in 2016 and is designed to introduce the next generation of kids to tennis. Tennis is a game that promotes fitness, athleticism, problem solving, and confidence. At the camp, we will have fun while learning fundamentals. Kids will participate in drills and games, and will take home a few skills to continue playing on their own. 

Instructors

Spartans Coach Mark Winkle will be leading the camp with the help of current and former Superior Spartans tennis players and UW-Superior players. 

Where

We will play at the NBC Sports Complex, home of the Spartans Tennis Teams at SHS!

Cost

$40 per camper.

• All proceeds from the camp will be invested in the camp itself and the SHS tennis program.
  
• There is a limit of 26 campers in each time slot. Registration will close when the limit is reached.

Dates and Times

Group 1: June TBD (Mon-Fri), 1:30 - 2:45

Group 2: June TBD, 3:00-4:15 (w/exception on Friday, time is noon - 1:15)

All campers will be put into smaller groups of 4-8 athletes plus an instructor.

What to Wear and Bring

Campers should wear athletic clothing and athletic shoes (no crocs or sandals). All players should bring a water bottle. Players should bring their own rackets, however some small (21") rackets will be available for use by the smaller campers, donated by NETS.

Weather

If weather does not permit outdoor play, we will look for indoor options. However, indoor options are limited and often cost-prohibitive, so there is a chance a day may be cancelled. If we cancel more than one day, we'll do our best to meet on a later date for a make-up day.

Registration

Participants should register according to the grade they will be entering the next school year. In order to plan most effectively, and to organize volunteers, please register at least one week before the start of camp. We may accept late registration in some cases, however, we may not be able to if the number of campers is too large compared to our volunteers.
